— Officers were called to Brookdale Avenue at 3:34 p.m. Tuesday about an injured deer, which was euthanized.

— Police were dispatched to West North Avenue at 11:01 a.m. Tuesday for a domestic dispute. No violence had occurred and no one was arrested.

— Officers reported to Alice Street at 12:56 p.m. Monday regarding a domestic dispute. The residents stated that it was just a family dispute between a mother and her daughter and no violence had occurred.

— A man called the police at 4:20 p.m. Sunday to report that the village had broken a contract by not having the swimming pool open, and that he wanted a report so he could file a lawsuit. They then heard him arguing with a female and went to the pool to check on the lifeguards, who stated that the pool was closed due to low attendance, but the man refused to listen. The officers advised the man to leave the park.

— Officers received a report at 4:17 p.m. Sunday of a low-flying drone flying around a residence in the area of Brookdale Avenue and Peppercorn Drive.

— Police were dispatched to West Martin Street at 1:37 p.m. Sunday for a welfare check on a dog. The caller stated that the dog had not been outside all day and they did not believe anyone was home. The officer made contact with the resident and made sure the dog was okay.

— A woman called 1:07 p.m. Sunday that someone had come onto her property on McClure Avenue without permission to drop off a package.

— David Vincent was arrested for OVI at 4:04 p.m. Saturday and released to a family member after a report of an accident.

— Officers were dispatched at 11:25 a.m. Saturday to the 400 block of Park Avenue for a custody dispute.

— Police were called to a parking lot on West Taggart Street at 10:50 a.m. Saturday for a disturbance.

— A woman called at 5:28 a.m. Saturday to report that her boyfriend had stolen her car keys so she couldn’t leave.

— Police were called at 7:30 a.m. Friday about a suspicious vehicle at the Presbyterian Church.

— Officer found a restroom door at the City Park open at 2:00 a.m. Friday and discovered the inside had been vandalized.

— A Veteran’s Affairs hotline operator called the police at 8:56 p.m. June 15 to request a welfare check for a resident on East Grant Street.

— Police were dispatched to West North Avenue at 10:06 a.m. June 15 about a sick opossum, which was euthanized.

— Officers were called to Leake Street at 3:09 p.m. June 14 about a fence dispute.

— A North Market Street resident called the police at 7:48 p.m. June 1 to report an ongoing problem with her daughter’s ex-husband, and asked that the officer contact him and ask him not to have any further contact with her. The man was contacted and informed that he would be charged with telecommunications harassment if he continued calling the woman.

— A resident in the 300 block of Grant Street reported at 10:35 a.m. Saturday an ongoing problem with her neighbor. She said the neighbor is harassing her due to her past calls to police regarding their conduct. The report was documented and the complainant was advised to contact an attorney or the city law director’s office.

— Officers responded to Columbiana County Jail at 6:14 p.m. Thursday the 16th to serve a domestic violence warrant on Marcus Chestnut, 32, West State Street, Salem. Chestnut was booked into jail.

— Officers responded to Plymouth Place at 12:54 a.m. Friday for a suspicious speeding vehicle heading towards the bypass. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the area of Idaho Avenue, and West State Street at 8:48 a.m. Friday for reports of a suspicious man laying in a ditch. Officers located the man, who had wrecked his bike, but was uninjured.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Idaho Avenue at 8:57 a.m. Friday for a suspicious person. While doing so they were made aware that the man, Charles Hoschar, 42, Grant Street, Salem had an active warrant in Columbiana County. Officers transfered Hoschar to the Columbiana County Sheriff’s office for transport to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the area of U.S. Route 62, and state Route 45 at 9:45 p.m. Friday for a reckless driver. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the 1400 block of Garfield Avenue at 10:53 p.m. Friday for a wellness check at the residents mother’s request. Officers spoke with the resident who confirmed she was okay, and would contact her mother.

— Officers responded to a Pembrooke Drive residence at 7:25 p.m. Saturday for a juvenile complaint. Resident complained several juveniles in the area had been harassing his dog through the front windows, and that while he was attempting to have the issue handled by the homeowners association, he wanted to have a report on file.

— Officers responded to the area of Cunningham Road at 7:50 p.m. Saturday for tree debris in the road. Officers arrived and successfully removed the obstruction.

— Officers responded to the 1600 block of Vanburen Avenue at 7:58 p.m. Saturday for an assault. The matter began as a verbal confrontation that turned physical, as part of an ongoing property dispute in which one participant was pulled to the ground and both were physically fighting. Officers took report and warned both that legal action could be taken against both parties if there is further violence.

— Officers responded to the area of U.S. Route 62 at 10:06 p.m. for a reckless driver. The officers pursued the vehicle onto West Pine Lake Road, where it accelerated to over 100 MPH, officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop and the driver failed to comply, fleeing northbound on Goshen Road out of Perry Township jurisdiction. Officers informed Goshen township police who attempted to speak with the owner of the vehicle at his residence on the 1200 block of Hampton Place, but were unable to reach anyone. The matter is under investigation.

— Officers responded to the area of West State Street and Country Club Lane at 11:45 p.m. Friday for reports of a suspicious man. Officers spoke with a man walking eastbound on U.S. Route 62, finding it was not the reported man. Officers gave the man a ride back to his residence.

— Officers responded to U.S. Route 62 at 11:52 p.m. to assist Salem police with a traffic stop. The vehicle was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed. Officers assisted until they were no longer needed.

— Officers spoke to a Steward Road man at 12 a.m. Sunday for reports of harassment. The man alleged that someone drove by yelling slurs at him.

— Officers responded to the area of state Routes 9, and 172 at 5:38 p.m. Sunday for a reckless driver. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Pidgeon Road at 5:50 p.m. Sunday to assist Perry Township Fire Department, and KLG Ambulance Service. EMTs performed first aid on the resident, who had fallen in their driveway, and KLG transported the patient for medical treatment.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Devonshire Drive at 6:04 p.m. Sunday for a noise complaint. Caller complained of fireworks being set off as part of an ongoing issue. Officer informed the caller of fireworks laws taking effect on July first, 2022, and would speak with the resident. Officers made contact with the resident and explained the new fireworks laws did not take effect until the first. Resident claimed they were unaware of this, and would stop setting off fireworks until the first.

— A patrolling officer at 1:17 a.m. Wednesday observed an intoxicated man walking down the street near Sebo Stadium. The man was given a ride home.

— Officers responded to the area of Waterworth Memorial Park on East Eighth Street at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday in reference to someone screaming. The sounds were found to be coming from a residence and contact was made in the backyard, where juveniles were found to be yelling and listening to music while swimming. They were advised of the complainant and told to turn the music down and refrain from yelling due to the time of night.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Fourth Street at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a disturbed person. Officers found the man in question and warned him for disorderly conduct. The man returned to his home.

— Alexis Louise Smith, 18, South Cross Street, Columbiana, was charged with theft after officers responded to a 2800 block East State Street business at 3:52 p.m. Tuesday where she was observed on security footage failing to scan $108.08 worth of merchandise in the self checkout.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Fourth Street at 5:37 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a loud person and made contact with a resident, who said he heard something in his house and was yelling at it. He was offered medical attention, but declined.

— Officers responded with medical personnel to the 900 block of Prospect Street at 12:39 p.m. Tuesday where a 2-year-old had been accidentally knocked down while playing with another small juvenile, hitting her head on the sidewalk and losing consciousness for a couple seconds. The child was transported to the Akron Children’s Boardman campus.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of West Wilson Street at 4:09 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a fight. Officers made contact with the parents of the juveniles in question and learned that it had been a verbal argument, with the other juveniles involved already having left. The others were contacted and also said it was a verbal argument. Everyone was told to stay away from each other.

— Officers responded to the animal hospital on West State Street at 10:15 p.m. Monday in reference to a man inside the business with a knife becoming aggressive with staff members. Officers found it to be a misunderstanding; the man was upset he was going to be billed for the euthanasia of a kitten and wanted to do it himself using the knife. No threats were made toward the staff members.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of East State Street at 9:15 p.m. Monday in reference to a man walking west in a hospital gown. Officers learned the man had just been discharged from the hospital with the gown and he was walking back home.

— Officers spoke with a woman on station regarding a juvenile problem at 8:55 p.m. Monday. Officers advised the woman of her options and the matter is under investigation.

— Officers responded with medical personnel to the 100 block of Fair Avenue at 4:45 p.m. Monday where someone was having an allergic reaction to something unknown. The woman and her daughter were transported by ambulance to the Alliance hospital.

— Officers responded with medical personnel to the 2200 block of East Pershing Street at 4:16 p.m. Monday in reference to a combative patient. The patient’s doctor was advising the patient to go to the hospital and the patient became agitated. Once the patient was explained why they needed to go to the hospital, they went without incident.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Prospect Street at 4:06 p.m. Monday where a resident said she believes her neighbors stole her cat. The neighbors said they did not have the cat and last saw it roaming free.

— Police responded to the area of North Lincoln Avenue and East Fourth Street at 1:08 p.m. Monday in reference to a man walking into traffic. Officers found the man and, after speaking with him, had him transported to the Salem hospital for evaluation.
